The Jackson County Farmers Market meets every Saturday morning from 9 – noon rain or shine at Bridge Park in downtown Sylva.
The variety of veggies is growing by the week. Strawberries are still around, but I suspect they won’t be around too much longer.
Also, plant starts, plants of all sorts – native and otherwise – will be available. Note cards, pottery, bird feeders and other locally made crafts can be found.
We have new children’s activities coming up:
The Jackson County Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program is joining the Jackson County Farmers Market. Starting this Saturday, they will have a booth set up with activities, crafts, snack and games guaranteed to get your children excited about making healthy choices. Stop by the booth on Saturday mornings to get involved or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
And be sure to check out our over-sized flower and seed puzzles under the pavilion. City Lights Bookstore storytime at 11:00 also under the pavilion.
Stop by the information booth to use your SNAP, Credit or Debit card at the market, pick up a Local Foods guide and bumper sticker and ask about becoming a Friend of the Market.
