The Jackson County Farmers Market is in full swing with lots of veggies, eggs, cheeses, plants, crafts, herbal remedies and activities. The Market takes place each Saturday in Bridge Park from 9 – 12. This week Dillsboro hand papermaker and book artist Frank Brannon will host a hands-on demonstration of hand papermaking with cotton and tree bark. Brannon will be showing how you can use the inner barks of some trees, and stems of other plants, to make paper for books or artwork. He’ll also show the process of making paper from reclaimed cotton from the thrift store. 4H will also be present with a nutrition program for kids. A stop by their booth will help get kids excited about the benefits of fresh food and movement. Family Art at the Market will take place in the shade of the Pavilion from 10 -12 – as will storytime with City Lights at 11. The Market accepts SNAP, credit and debit.
