15 Participants in Jackson County’s 8th Annual Farm, Garden and Studio Tour
July 26th and 27th from 1 – 6 the 8th annual Jackson County Self-Guided Farm Tour will take place. The Farm Tour happens every year, but this year with an added twist. The Jackson County Farmers Market is partnering with Cullowhee Revitalization Endeavor (CuRvE) and including their annual Studio Tour.
By visiting the farms you can get detailed information from the farmer about how he/she tends the plants and soil. You can also see how the animals are tended to and cared for. Visit studios and see artists in action and learn how both make a living in our small town, mountain community.
This year we have an 3 community gardens and a couple of home gardens where people are growing food to share with the community and for their own use. See a variety of people employ a variety of growing methods in their gardens. We hope that in the future some of you will be inspired and encouraged to start your own gardens too.
Tickets and brochures with a map of the participants are available at the Farmers Market which takes place each Saturday morning in Bridge Park from 9 – 12. To encourage car pooling tickets prices are per car. $15 for 1 day, $25 for two. Students and Seniors pay $10 per day.
