And just in time.
The weather is looking like it may turn chilly, but not to worry, you can find your local grown veggies and locally made crafts indoors at the Community Table – just across the bridge and through the park – from 10 – 1 each Saturday.
We had a great last outdoor Farmers Market this past Saturday complete with dancing and a parade. Kim Shuler sang some great tunes and Jackson County Arts Council sponsored program Family Art at the Market (FAM) made hats with kids for our annual Hat Parade. The parade marks the end of our outdoor season and the beginning of our indoor market season. You can find us at the Community Table from 10:00 – 1:00 each Saturday through the winter. FAM will be creating wonders with kids most Saturdays.
Dancing our way to the indoor market with singer Kim Shuler
Walter and Joanne of Pineapple Sage dancing the last outdoor market away.
Kim Shuler sang us some all time favorites that we could all sing along to.
The annual Hat Parade!
The Jackson County Arts Council sponsors the Market’s Family Art at the Market program. Despite what the sign says, FAM continues on into the winter providing art education to market kids year round.
Kathy Cirka of Backwoods Bakery never fails to surprise the kids! In this case – a tasty treat, and although you can’t tell, it actually looks like a bloody finger. ohhhh grosss…. but wait! it tastes so good.
Thanks to the Jackson County Arts Council for supporting the market’s Family Art at the Market (FAM) program which provides creative art exploration for kids each Saturday throughout the winter months. A big thanks also goes out to the NC Arts Council and Western Carolina University’s Art Education Program.
